State Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) said last week that with Christmas right around the corner, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has released the 2015 Safe Shopping Guide.
The list gives consumers information on children’s toys and other products, including hazardous toys. The list also includes recalled household products.
This year’s guide includes photos and descriptions of approximately 100 products that have been recalled.
Unsafe toys include those that pose a choking hazard.
The guide said when buying other items, such as children’s furniture, make sure the items do not pose a risk of falling on children or a risk of children becoming trapped inside. The list also includes a guide to many popular gifts, such as tablets and smartphones.
The attorney general's office puts the list each year so Illinois families can keep their homes safe for the holidays.
