The McHenry County Human Resources Committee, and the McHenry County Finance and Audit Committee will hold a joint public meeting at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in the County Board Conference Room to approve a contract for the county's coroner.
Negotiations on the agreement involved Service Employees International Union Local 73, the county and the office of McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.
The corner is responsible for using an array of scientific resources to determine the cause of a particular death. The coroner may rely on on-scene investigations, medical history reviews, autopsy, photographing, toxicology testing, X-rays, bacterial studies and psychiatric history reviews to form the most complete explanation possible.
