Richmond amends budget to allow for house demolition
The Richmond Village Board voted to amend its budget to allow for the demolition of a house at 10104 Main St. at its Dec. 17 meeting.
Trustees reviewed the amendment to allow for the demolition project before unanimously approving the measure.
In a related matter, Village Attorney David McArdle told trustees that the bank holding the mortgage on the Nippersink House is considering releasing its lien on the property. McArdle said that if the bank does this, the owner would be able to allow the village to tear down the residence. He also noted that a transfer of the property’s deed would allow the village to move forward without court action.
The Finance Committee said it has reviewed the budget amendment that would allow for the demolition of the Nippersink House in 2017.
