Metrom Railroad Safety Products and DeMarco Industrial Vacuum Corp. are moving to Crystal Lake.

Crystal Lake said recently that two manufacturing companies will be relocating to the city.

Metrom Railroad Safety Products, a manufacturer of rail sensors and notifications, and DeMarco Industrial Vacuum Corp., which is focused on vacuum machines utilized in power generation, mining operations and removal of sand and cement material will be coming to the city.

Approximately 2,400 new jobs are expected to be created with the addition of these two companies.

“DeMarco Industrial Vacuum Corp. and Metrom Railroad Safety Products are finalizing deals and occupancies in their Crystal Lake locations,” Crystal Lake Planning and Economic Development Manager James Richter II said. “Crystal Lake has a competitive advantage over other communities – the city has worked very hard to keep the cost of doing business to a minimum, and we advocate for businesses by supporting those who locate here in town.”

Metrom currently is in Lake Zurich and DeMarco’s base of operations is currently in Cary.

Metrom Owner Richard Carlson said the city seemed to be inviting and offered a significant amount of support to facilitate the relocation process.
