Following Wednesday's State of the Budget address before the Illinois legislature, Rep. Mike Tyron (R-Crystal Lake) echoed what Gov. Bruce Rauner had to say about the financial crisis.
Rauner called on lawmakers to work toward a compromise during his financial address. The state has been stuck in a budget impasse since July when Rauner vetoed a spending plan sent to him by the Democrat-controlled legislature.
“I stand with Gov. Rauner, ready to work in a respectful and bipartisan manner for the good of all Illinoisans,” Tyron said.
Rauner said "real reform" is needed to create more jobs in the state, and it's not just enough to raise taxes.
“This address included a detailed roadmap toward reforms that will make state government more effective in the way services are delivered and create a better value for every tax dollar sent to Springfield,” Tyron said. “Taxpayers are at their limit for what they can afford, and I support the governor’s ambitious agenda to ease the tax burden by making Illinois a better place for doing business.”
Tyron is not seeking another term in the state legislature.
