The Lake in the Hills Police Department said it will be hosting the Teen Safety Series in April.
The three week program will cover the challenges and risks faced by young people in society. Topics that will be covered include bullying, safe practices over social media, effects and consequences of consuming illegal drugs and alcohol, matters relating to dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. This course is meant for all teens, male and female, who are 12 and 16 years old.
The notice states that the series will be limited to 30 participants and those interested in the series are encouraged to contact Mary Frake at mfrake@lith.org or Sean Feely at sfeely@lith.org via email to reserve a spot.
The course will take place over three sessions that will take place between 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on April 6, 13 and 20 at the Lake in the Hills Police Department Safety Education Center on Crystal Lake Road. The session on April 6 will also include a meeting with parents at 6 p.m.
