McHenry County zoning panel hears rezoning, conditional use requests

Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort LLC  requested a conditional use permit for a campground in the Coral and Riley townships at 19609 Harmony Rd. in Marengo.

With this permit, the petitioner is also requesting variances regarding setback requirements and roadways. For campsites, setbacks are typically required to be 100 feet from the property perimeter. County zoning code also requires that this kind of facility have 25-foot interior roadways that have two lanes.

MWG Holdings LLC is requested that property at 15510 Harmony Rd., Huntley in Coral Township be reclassified as an A-2, agricultural district. It currently has A-1 classification. The county’s zoning ordinance states that the A-2 classification allows for a single-family residence. It also states that this district can only be assigned to areas classified as A-1 districts and that there is only a single parcel on the site or to be proposed. To be considered an A-2 district zone, the property is required to maintain agricultural activities.
