The village of Lake in the Hills has released details for the Run Thru the Hills races that will be taking place April 10.
The 5K, 10K and a new 5K Ruck Run/Run will begin at the AMC Lake in the Hills Theaters on Randall Road.
The 5K ruck race involves sacks that weigh 30 pounds over a course featuring running and walking segments. Participants must provide the bags used in the race and U.S. Army Recruiting Center representatives will be present to demonstrate the rucking process.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each event. There will also be a complimentary post-race breakfast that is open to all participants. Tickets may also be purchased for non-participants.
Registration for all events must be submitted online prior to the day of the races. Participants who sign up by April 3 will pay an individual fee of $30 or a team registration fee of $28 for early-bird registration. After April 3, the fees increase to $40 per person and $35 per team.
