Skillicorn would like to see Madigan fired

Election

Allen Skillicorn, the Republican contender for state representative in House District 66, recently said he wants a message delivered to House Speaker Mike Madigan: Please tell him that he’s fired.

The Land of Lincoln’s pension liability has swelled to more than $100 billion with no signs of let up while the Illinois legislature never even passed a constitutionally required balanced budget for fiscal year 2016, all under Madigan's watch, Skillicorn said.

Skillicorn said Madigan, a Chicago Democrat, continues to stoke the spending machine, allowing ever-increasing debt to pile up with continued spending, and the continual threat of higher taxes looming for property owners and other constituents.

The ways in which Madigan supports politicians and lobbyists are complex, Skillicorn said, but the goal is simple: “Speaker Mike Madigan wants more of your money.”

"For 45 years Speaker Mike Madigan has been shifting power and tax money to the Chicago machine while the rest of the state crashes,” Skillicorn said. “I pledge that I will not be the decisive, veto-overriding vote for Speaker Madigan. No way, no how."

House District 66 includes portions of McHenry and Kane counties including Algonquin, Carpentersville, Crystal Lake, East Dundee, Elgin, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Lakewood, Sleepy Hollow and West Dundee.
