McHenry County welcomed three new businesses and cheered one returning shop recently, according to the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce's newsletter.
Jim and Susan Starwalt opened two new businesses along Route 120: Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Star Homes and Magnolia Salon. The ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the businesses, held on the same day, drew supporters from the chamber and the local community, as well as staff and well-wishers.
McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett was on hand for the ceremony for Beerability on Shamrock Lane, as were chamber officials and a representative from Harris Bank.
The chamber also held a ceremony for the grand reopening of Meijer’s McHenry Department Store on Richmond Road. The store had been closed for renovations to give it a more modern look.
