Graduates earn 1,294 degrees, certificates from McHenry County College

About 24.4 percent of the 1,294 degrees and certificates handed out by the McHenry County College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Lake conferred 269 certificates and 47 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. Data shows the school gave out 285 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences, followed by 190 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 135 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies.

The college enrolled 6,371 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
