The District 50 School Board appreciates and welcomes all visitors to tonight's meeting. We ask that visitors sign in so we can thank you for attending.
This is the time in our meeting when we invite the public to address the school board with issues and concerns. While the board is very interested in your comments, this is not a time for discussion or debate, we cannot respond to comments or answer questions at this time.
A member of the District 50 administrative staff will follow up within 48 hours of this meeting to determine if you would like to discuss the issue further. In the interest of time, we ask that you keep your comments brief and limit them to three minutes.
Since our board meetings are recorded for re-broadcast to the public, your comments will be recorded as well. We ask that you keep your comments civil and professional. Susan Bartos with First Student provided the Board with an independent survey regarding the safety of Durham.
Teresa Langston with First Student addressed the Board regarding the excellent training that First Student provides to its drivers.
Diana Bird addressed the Board with concerns of the February and March podcasts not posting correctly. She further asked for further explanation of the Evidence Based Funding Model and if those funds are being utilized this year.
Amber Jones addressed the Board with her concerns of bullying at Crosby Elementary.

XIII. FOIA Requests
On April 4, 2018, MaryAnn Foster FOIA Officer, received a request from Ivan Parfenoff and Michelle Mbekeani-Wiley, Staff Attorney, Shriver Center, requesting the number of Resource Officers employed with the district and a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding between the district and the City of Harvard which provides us with the School Resource Officer. On April 9, 2018 MaryAnn Foster sent the information electronically.
On April 10, 2018, MaryAnn Foster FOIA Officer, received a request from Katie Kim, NBC 5 Chicago Reporter, requesting documents to show which schools in Harvard Community Unit School District 50 have a school resource officer (SRO) assigned; and documents showing all policies and guidelines for that school resource officer. On April 10, 2018 MaryAnn Foster sent the information electronically.

Dr. Tafoya provided the Board with further information regarding the Evidence Based Funding Model and the amount of planning that will be necessary for the upcoming school year.
