Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 23.
The Justen Road Bridge was re-opened on Friday, July 20 th , after being closed for
the rebuilding of the bridge. The Village of Prairie Grove was tasked with replacing the aging bridge for the
safety and security of our infrastructure.
President David K. Robak thanked many people for the efforts to complete the project under budget and on time. (A modern miracle in Illinois these days.) I want to thank past Village Boards for having the foresight to develop the Business community in the Village to help us afford the improvements and share this cost with the residents. (Another Illinois miracle – we did not have to borrow the money to build!)
He also thanked John Ambrose and Baxter & Woodman for managing the project, keeping it on track, and delivering a beautiful looking Bridge. He additionally thanked the contractor, Dunnet Bay, for the great work and a perfectly executed project. I want to thank all our residents and businesses that share the cost and developed
the “nest egg” for the bridge and other recent road improvements.
The bridge was opened by having our Police Chief, Tony Calatorti, drive across first in our newest police Chrysler/Dodge squad cars. He is followed by Gary Rosenberg of Chrysler Jeep who is a leader our business community and supplier or our Police vehicles. We hope we have all provided a bridge that stands for decades for current and future residents and businesses of the Village of Prairie Grove.
