Analysis: Marengo pays $4.23 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Marengo Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.7 percent of the $513,159 the Marengo Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.23 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Marengo contributed $414,202 to the fund, which saw a $152,913 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $97,880, or 19.1 percent, in 2018. Another $1,077 came from other unspecified sources.
