Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded to 77 calls in 2018 - 39.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Wonder Lake included 40 fires - 24 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $493,200 in fire loss - or about $12,330 per fire.

The department also received 36 false calls.

The Wonder Lake Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,201,334 in 2018.
