McHenry County Transportation Committee met March 31.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order at: 8:15 AM by Jim Kearns.

PRESENT: Nowak, Aavang (Remote), Skala, Kearns, Vijuk (Remote), Doherty, Jindrich (Remote), Collins

ABSENT:

2. MINUTES APPROVAL

A. Transportation Committee - Public Meeting - Feb 24, 2021 8:15 AM

On a motion by Mr. Doherty, seconded by Mr. Vijuk, the meeting minutes of February 24, 2021 were approved as presented.

RESULT: ACCEPTED BY VOICE

3. PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

4. MEMBER COMMENTS

Mr. Vijuk was seeking follow up to questions he had regarding PTAC bylaws. Assistant Director of Transportation Hennings responded that work was being done and recommendations will be brought forward at the April Transportation Committee meeting.

Mr. Kearns welcomed new Transportation Committee member John Collins.

3. Resolution Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Village of Johnsburg and the County of McHenry for Maintenance Services for Sidewalks Along Chapel Hill Road

4. Resolution Accepting 2021 Rights-of-Way Finish Mowing Bid and Appropriating Funds for the Division of Transportation

7. NEW BUSINESS

A. Staff Recognition

The MCDOT would like to welcome Samantha Garver to our Finance Section as the new Accounting Assistant I. Samantha will be reporting to Crystal Habbley and brings a wealth of accounting experience to her newly reclassified position.

Samantha graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2015 and wound up in the accounting field! Samantha is newly married and enjoys spending her free time trying out new restaurants or camping with her husband Nate and their dog, Harper Rose. As much of a foodie as she is though, she is severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

8. OLD BUSINESS

A. Staff Report

Staff provided an update regarding grant funding for the MCRide program. Discussion ensued. Staff provided a construction update. Discussion ensued.

Mr. Hartman provided a draft framework of Township Dissolution Policy Options for the committee to review. Discussion ensued.

9. EXECUTIVE SESSION (AS NECESSARY)

A. Meeting Minutes, Land Acquisition, and Pending Litigation

None.

10. NEXT MEETING DATE AND LOCATION

A. 8:15 A.M. on April 28, 2021 - McHenry County Division of Transportation

Location of next meeting TBD.

11. ADJOURNMENT

On a motion by Mr. Skala, seconded by Mr. Doherty, the Transportation Committee meeting adjourned at 8:58 AM. A voice vote was taken with all members present voting "Aye"; motion carried.
