Village of Lake in the Hills Board of Trustees met Aug. 24.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm.

Roll call was answered by Trustees Huckins, Dustin, Harlfinger, Bojarski, Anderson, Murphy, and President Bogdanowski.

Also present were Village Administrator Shannon Andrews, Assistant Village Administrator Trevor Bosack, Chief of Police Mary Frake, Finance Director Pete Stefan, Public Works Director Ryan McDillon, Director of Community Development John Svalenka, Village Attorney Brad Stewart, and Village Clerk Shannon DuBeau.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by District 300 Superintendent Susan Harkin. She thanked the Village for supporting her district and noted the great relationships that were built through partnership.

Consent Agenda

This portion of the agenda contains several items that will be acted upon in one Motion unless any Trustee wishes to remove an item. For members of the public, copies of the agenda are available at the entryway.

A. Motion to accept and place on file the minutes of the August 8, 2023, Committee of the Whole meeting. B. Motion to accept and place on file the minutes of the August 10, 2023, Village Board meeting.

C. Motion to pass Resolution No. 2023- ____, A Resolution Appointing a Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency.

D. Motion pass Ordinance No. 2023- ____, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 33, Liquor Control and Liquor Licensing, Section 33.08B “Number of Licenses Issued” of the Lake in the Hills Municipal Code.

Motion to approve the Consent Agenda items A-D was made by Trustee Harlfinger and seconded by Trustee Huckins. On roll call vote, Trustees Anderson, Dustin, Bojarski, Huckins, Murphy, and Harlfinger voted Aye. No Nays. Motion carried.

Approval of the Schedule of Bills

Motion to approve the August 25, 2023, Schedule of Bills total of all funds $426,441.22 was made by Trustee Harlfinger and seconded by Trustee Huckins. On roll call vote, Trustees Bojarski, Murphy, Huckins, Harlfinger, Anderson, and Dustin voted Aye. No Nays. Motion carried.

Motion to approve the July 2023 Manual Bills total of all funds $1,004,397.79 was made by Trustee Harlfinger and seconded by Trustee Huckins. On roll call vote, Trustees Dustin, Huckins, Bojarski, Anderson, Murphy, and Harlfinger voted Aye. No Nays. Motion carried.

Village Administrator and Department Head Reports None.

Board of Trustee Reports

Trustee Murphy thanked staff for their help with Summer Sunset Fest.

Village President Reports

Motion to approve the re-appointment of Michael Cairns and Brad Wackerlin to the Parks & Recreation Board effective from August 24, 2023, through August 22, 2027, was made by Trustee Huckins and seconded by Trustee Murphy. On roll call vote, Trustees Bojarski, Dustin, Harlfinger, Huckins, Anderson, and Murphy voted Aye. No Nays. Motion carried.

President Bogdanowski proclaimed the first full week of September as Payroll Week in Lake in the Hills, Illinois.

A joint meeting will take place between the Village Board and the Parks and Recreation Board on September 12th at 6:30pm.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Trustee Anderson and seconded by Trustee Huckins. All in favor by voice vote.
