Delaney Gale, a Communication major from Crystal Lake, Illinois, has been named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Warhawk women’s track and field team for the 2026 season.
The Warhawks concluded the 2025 season with fifth-place finishes at both the indoor and outdoor championship meets in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Nationally, the team placed 56th at the NCAA Indoor Championships and tied for 22nd at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Head coach Mike Johnson is entering his 15th year leading the women’s program. “The Warhawk women have finished among the top 10 at four national meets (two indoor, two outdoor) during Johnson’s tenure.”
The team’s 2026 season began on January 17 at Carthage’s Firebird First Invitational. Their first regular season home meet will be held Saturday, January 24 at Kachel Fieldhouse during the Karl Schlender Invitational. More information about the full schedule is available at uwwsports.com.
