Kaylee Jarrard of Crystal Lake, Illinois, has been named a Fall 2025 Distinguished Scholar at Rockford University. The recognition is given to full-time students who complete at least 12 credits, earn a minimum GPA of 3.75 with no grades below “C,” and fulfill all semester requirements.

Rockford University, formerly known as Rockford College, was founded in 1847 and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in liberal arts and professional fields. The university’s undergraduate program includes about 80 majors, minors, and concentrations. Three majors are available entirely online through the RU Online program. Graduate offerings include five master’s degrees: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), Master of Education (M.Ed.), Master of Arts in Sport Management & Leadership (MASM), and Master of Science in Exercise Physiology (MSEP).

The university is home to one of only eleven Phi Beta Kappa chapters in Illinois. It also holds the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement, which highlights its partnerships within local and regional communities. Rockford University has been recognized by The Princeton Review as a Best Midwestern College and by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Midwest Regional University. The institution serves about 1,200 full- and part-time students.
