On Friday, March 6, the NYU Violets, featuring Marengo Community High School alumnus Matt Volkening, defeated the Gettysburg Bullets 65-53 in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
The contest began at 3:45 p.m. in Silloway Gymnasium, marking the team’s first encounter with Gettysburg in the tournament.
NYU is scheduled to play its next game Saturday, March 7 at 6:15 p.m., also at Silloway Gymnasium.
