McHenry City Council sets meeting agenda

The McHenry City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.  

Character Counts! awards are scheduled to be presented after the meeting is called to order. The City Council then will present the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Award.

Public comments will be heard after the council presents annual finance report for fiscal year 2014-15. 

Persons wishing to make a public comment are invited to step to the podium and identify themselves. They will be asked for their address, but they are not required to provide it. Comments are limited to three minutes for each speaker.

The next order of business will be the consent a that includes the 2016 City Council meeting schedule; the annual resolution to Ithe Illinois Department of Transportation; the intergovernmental agreement for general public dial-a-ride transit service in 2016; payment for change orders and project add-ons to Stuckey Construction for the McHenry Recreation Center; an ordinance reducing Class A liquor licenses from 25 to 24; advertising for printing bids for 2016 city newsletters and parks brochure; and the meeting minutes for Oct. 19 and Nov. 2; and checks and a list of bills.

The City Council will consider a resolution setting a public hearing for Dec. 7 on a proposed property tax levy request for 2015.

Several other motions are on the agenda, including a fence variance at 2618 Wall St.; an easement agreement between the city and McHenry Country Club; purchase of fitness equipment for the McHenry Recreation Center; purchase and installation of furniture at the McHenry Recreation Center; and increasing the development expense account.

The final items on the agenda include the mayor's statement and reports, the attorney report regarding the IEPA SRF loan agreement, committee reports, staff reports and future agenda items.
