The village of Spring Grove Parks Committee recently released the minutes of its Nov. 24 meeting, during which the main item of business was the agreement with the Richmond Burton Baseball Association (RBBA) regarding the irrigation systems on the ball fields.
Winterizing the irrigation system has fallen on the Parks Committee and there has been issues with maintenance. A hydrant was suggested as maintenance costs have run $500 on a few occasions over the past year.
RBBA said it would like to keep the current system, but it might not be a bad idea to upgrade to a professional model, which would help eliminate some of the maintenance issues. They also requested the village continue to do the winter maintenance work, as the volunteers that currently work are already stretched thin.
The village decided to continue winterizing, but RBBA will responsible for an updated system and all the parts.
Also discussed was getting approval from the village before organizations can use the park. The RBBA and the Comets will make sure the village is notified of the rental of parks and that the organizations will know of the rental and agreement fees set forth by the village.
