The Lake in the Hills Village Board will discuss the 2016 budget and tax levy at its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 600 Harvest Gate.
The board is also expected to authorize the village's participation in the McHenry County Gang Task Force, a collaboration between the McHenry County sheriff, Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Harvard, Huntley, Island Lake, Johnsburg, Lakemoor, Marengo, McHenry, McCullom Lake, Richmond, Wonder Lake, Woodstock and the McHenry County Conservation District. Participating officers from each participating community receive special training to address and investigate gang-related crimes. The group also conducts outreach to schools and community groups to discourage gang membership.
The board also is scheduled to vote a contract for a year's supply of water softener from Midwest Salt, LLC, valued at $119,799, and a contract to extend local and long-distance telecommunication services with provider Call One for another year.
