The Lake in the Hills Public Works Department recently began the process of seeking bids for facility cleaning and will discuss the proposal at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the public works facility at 9010 Haligus Road.
This facility cleaning proposal is in the early stages of development and details about the project are not available on the village's website.
Proposals for the project will be due by 10 a.m. Jan. 6.
The public works department serves the village through its street division, which is responsible for the maintenance of the streets and roads. The division's day-to-day work involves a variety of projects including patching roads, street sweeping and getting rid of weeds.
The department's public property division oversees village-owned buildings such as the police department and airport facilities.
The water division maintains the pumps, towers, wells and treatment plants, which all play in role in ensuring that village residents get water to their homes.
