The Fox River Grove Village Board will meet as a committee of the whole after Thursday's regular board meeting to discuss right-of-way mowing on Route 14.
Thursday's meeting has a lot less on the agenda compared to the Nov. 17 meeting, which featured a discussion of the sign code. Trustees Suzanne Blohm and Jennifer Curtiss said they drove around town to check business signs and they would like to see improvements in sign appearance around town. They said, however, they did not want to make it too hard on the businesses having to change signs. They also stated that the village will most likely need an enforcement plan.
One of the issues was that signs were not in good shape. They believe the code should force businesses to keep their signs in decent shape. If the business is not in compliance, they would have six months to repair the signs. Another issue was signs taking up most of the window space on a building. The two trustees thought that there should be a limit on the size and number of signs in a window.
