Dodge

The McHenry City Council approved Sunnyside Chrysler Dodge Ram's plans for an expansion and face-lift at 4810 W. Elm St. during the Dec. 7 council meeting.

After working with the city for several years, Sunnyside received approval to build a 3,870-square-foot addition along the east side of the existing building. The additional space will allow Sunnyside to add a Jeep franchise to to the dealership. The City Council also approved a facelift to the existing building.

Besides approving the conditional use permit and variances, the City Council authorized the city and Sunnyside Auto Finance Co. to execute an economic incentive agreement.

Sunnyside has over a half-century of history on Elm Street, having operated a new and used car sales, trailer sales and automotive repair business. This expansion is viewed as essential to Elm Street as the city works to revitalize this economically struggling area.
