A vote on the 2015 tax levy for road district and the 2015 levy for the town fund were voted on during the Village of Algonquin Board Meeting Nov. 12.
A motion to adopt the 2015 tax levy was brought forward by Trustee Russell Cardelli, which was seconded by Trustee Larry Emery. A discussion for the vote then took place. Trustee Dan Shea mentioned there is a 1.8 percent decrease in the levy with a flat no increase, due to the fact the increase is the rate of inflation.
A motion was brought forward to pass and it did, with Shea the only no vote.
The motion to adopt the 2015 tax levy for the road district was brought forward by Cardelli and seconded by Shea. The motion was brought forward for discussion before the vote. Emery brought up some of the individual accounts on the levy, but Highway Commissioner Bob Miller said the only important number is the total. Shea followed up with saying that the levy is the most one can get, but it is most likely the less.
A motion to vote passed, with Shea the only no vote.
