Property reclassification and police activities were two subjects discussed at the Island Lake Village Board meeting on Oct. 22.
The board approved a recommendation to reclassify property located between 211 and 217 W. State Rd. to B-2 Specific Business District from a B-1 General Business District.
The board also approved spending up to $3,800 to replace the garage door at the salt shed garage door replacement and awarded a refuse removal contract to Prairie Land.
Police Chief Tony Sciarroni told trustees of several issues local law enforcement has been facing. Sciarroni also told trustees he met with the Waukegan Bomb Squad regarding the development of a program for the village and local schools.
Resident Ken Blunt asked trustees about the removal of trees at Westridge Drive. The board said that the area will have agricultural crops planted in the area.
Trustees also approved the appointment of Gerogine Cooper as the village clerk.
