The Lake in the Hills Village Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to consider a Lake in the Hills Sportsmans Club request for a raffle license.
The club is seeking a raffle license and is also requesting that fidelity bond requirements associated with the license to waived. Village code requires that a raffle manager provide a bond that is equivalent to the amount of revenue that is expected to be generated. The Village Board and village president are authorized to waive this requirement by a unanimous vote.
The raffle license application indicates that the event will be taking place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. This raffle will consist of the sale of sporting equipment and gift card donations with an approximate value of $800 combined. The prizes are listed to range between $5 and $50 in retail pricing and each raffle chance will cost $5.
The club has signed the bond waiver request indicating that the organization is a nonprofit.
