The Cary Village Board will be considering a joint bid for a contract relating to janitorial services during its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Department of Public Works has submitted a proposal that, if approved, would award a contract to Perfect Cleaning Services Inc. to provide comprehensive janitorial services starting April 1 and running to April 30, 2017. The contract, which includes three possible year-long extensions, would cost Cary $22,150. The contract is part of a joint bid with Lake in the Hills.

According to the department, outsourcing janitorial duties would allow the department to operate more efficiently.

Currently Village Hall, Public Works and the Police Department janitorial needs are met in-house by staff from Public Works.

Services sought include regular vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and sanitizing areas that are used commonly that include restrooms, lockers and kitchen areas. The company would also dispose of garbage and recycling materials.
