Fox River Grove approved a change in a liquor license for Walgreens during the Feb. 4 Village Board meeting.
A Walgreens store in the village that was licensed to sell beer and wine had requested a change in its liquor license to allow it to sell other forms of alcohol. The store would need a Class D license to sell beverages other than beer and wine.
The Village Board decided to grant the store a Class DD license, a variant on a traditional Class D license that limits the amount of shelf space in an establishment for alcoholic beverages to 12 feet.
The board voted to amend village codes to reduce the number of Class F licenses to one and increase Class DD licenses to two.
