A landlord addressed the McCullom Lake Village Board on Feb. 9 and expressed concerns about the inspection of rental homes.
The meeting notes state that the landlord indicated he feels singled out as a result of inspections that have been completed at properties he rents out. The landlord also submitted a list of eight homes believed to be rental properties that have not had inspections completed.
The board took the list of homes and determined that four of the listed residences were not considered rental properties. The meeting minutes note that tracking which homes are rental properties is difficult if the landlords for those residences do not make themselves known. The board said it will be looking further into this matter.
