McHenry City Council will meet Monday to review the city's engineering services.

The McHenry City Council is holding a partial session Monday to discuss matters relating to the city’s engineering services.

This meeting is open to the public, and time for public comment has been set aside before the main topic of the meeting. Residents wishing to ask questions or submit commentary are asked to identify themselves for record-keeping purposes. Speaking may be limited to three minutes, depending on the circumstances of the meeting.

According to a Northwest Herald article, the city’s engineering partner, HR Green, has been partnered with the city since 2005. The company presented information on its services and indicated that services offered would cost what Vice President of Government Services Tim Hartnett described as “middle of the road,” or lower than other similar firms with similar capabilities would offer. This has been reported to be approximately $13,200 on average annually. This presentation was made in November.

Alderman Victor Santi also expressed that it would benefit the city to receive similar presentations from other firms, to make a more informed decision in this area.

This meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the McHenry Municipal Center on South Green Street.
