The Fox River Grove Fire Department recently responded to a garage fire that caused roughly $50,000 in damage.
At 8:08 p.m. last Thursday, the fire crews were called to a detached garage fire near the Fox River at the 2000 block of Algonquin road.
The garage was in flames when the crews arrived; it took approximately 15 minutes to subdue the flames. No one was injured and no vehicles were destroyed by the fire.
Assisting in the scene were the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District and Wauconda Fire District.
