High school students in the McHenry area are invited to a free Manufacturing, Trades & Industry Career Expo hosted by Rep. Barbara Wheeler (R-Crystal Lake) on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at McHenry High School East Campus, according to an event flier.
The event is being promoted as a great opportunity for students to learn about the various careers and scholarship opportunities available to them. Seniors who attend can register for a scholarship opportunity from the McHenry Sunrise Rotary Club, which provides up to $3,000 for the pursuit of post-secondary tech education.
The evening will also feature drawings that all students in attendance can enter. Up for grabs will be autographed Blackhawks memorabilia donated by Jett’s Heating and Air. Students who come with their parents will be able to make multiple entries in the drawing, giving them a better shot at winning.
