Flood-hit residents of McHenry, Kane offered reassessment opportunity

Residents of McHenry and Kane counties affected by the July flooding of the Fox River and its tributaries may have their properties reassessed, according to an announcement on Rep. Allen Skillicorn's (R-East Dundee) website.

Property owners whose homes, businesses and other properties were affected can complete the Disaster Area Application for Reassessment (Form PTAX-245) and send it into their respective assessment office.

Completed forms should be sent to the Kane County Assessment Office, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building C, Geneva, IL 60134-3000, or the Algonquin Township Assessment Office, 3702 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Residents of Algonquin Township must address the form to the Algonquin Township Assessor's Office.
