The calls in Crystal Lake included 52 fires - 19 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 21 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $504,796 in fire loss - or about $9,708 per fire.
The department also received 782 false calls, including four malicious calls and 778 other false calls.
Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.
The Crystal Lake Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 62 active employees and 29 retired or inactive employees, was $912,632 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $17,551 for every fire in 2016.
