Analysis: Algonquin pays $2.75 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Algonquin Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73 percent of the $1,697,880 the Algonquin Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.75 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Algonquin contributed $1,240,000 to the fund, which saw a $99,350 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $450,578, or 26.5 percent, in 2016. Another $7,302 came from other unspecified sources.
