City of McHenry Landmark Commission met April 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

Pat Wirtz opened the meeting at 7:00 pm

Members present: Pat Wirtz, Pat Schafer, Zelinda Paluch, MaryKay Welter, Robin Schmidt, Gerhard Rosenberg, Celeste Heidemann, Jeff Varda, George Lamm and Kaaren Gies

Members absent: Nick Bennett and proposed student member, Caleb Smith

Guests: Judy Kaplan and Jay Bomberg of the Riverside House Partners, LLC. They came to the meeting to explain their new ownership of the historic Riverside Hotel and the changes that are being made to the building itself and the new rules and conditions for renting an apartment at the "Riverside House". There will be a resident manager at the building to take care of 28 apts. and 9 rooms for men only.

Minutes: MaryKay W. made a motion to accept the minutes, 2nd by Pat. S., motion Carried.

Treasurer's report: no change

Old Business:

a. Perhaps a meeting w/ Cliff McConnville re: farm

b. The marketing study w/Diane Williams will be discussed with the city and several Landmark members shortly.

c. Bi-Centennial display can be installed at the library. Pat S. gave us several topics and ideas for us to put together and take to the library, are to work on ideas before the next meeting.

d. Jeff V. gave review of his work in getting Native American exhibits to our Day at the Farm. We will have some type of display. He is still working on more.

e. George L. will be contacting the Boy Scouts in re: to working on the Three Sisters Garden.

New Business:

a. The new Lake County Museum is open in Libertyville.

b. We will have a Fall activity on Sept. 30th at the Farm.

Gerhard made motion to adjourn, 2nd by Zelinda P. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm
