Report: Algonquin spent $11,330 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Algonquin Community Unit School District 300 is up 15 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kane County school district spent $9,889 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,330 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 20525 to 20708.

Algonquin's spending in 2016-17 was 13 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
