Report: McHenry spent $13,932 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at McHenry Community Consolidated School District 15 is up 33 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $10,456 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,932 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4717 to 4491.

McHenry's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
