CRYSTAL LAKE PARK DISTRICT: Group and Private Sailing Lessons with the Crystal Lake Park District

Crystal Lake Park District issued the following announcement on May 17.

Are you a beginner and want to start sailing or an experienced skipper who just needs to receive your sailing card? The Crystal Lake Park District offers individual or group lessons where upon completion you will receive a sailing card which is required to rent sail boats on Crystal Lake.

Location: Crystal Lake Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive, Crystal Lake

Ages: 13 years and up

Water shoes and beach attire are required.

Private Sailing Lessons

To schedule a private lesson, submit the Private Lesson Form at least one week in advance of your preferred start date. The form can be found on our website http://www.crystallakeparks.org/beaches?tab=53

 Beginner-3 Sessions (4 hours total)

Program Fee: $160 Individual/$260 Couple

Resident Discount Fee: $150 Individual/$250 Couple

 Experienced (2 hours total)

Program Fee: $80 Individual/$135 Couple

Resident Discount Fee: $75 Individual/$125 Couple

 Group Sailing Lessons

Enjoy the carefree life of a sailor! We provide the boats, life jackets, sailing partner if needed, and expert instruction. Upon completion of this class, students must demonstrate the basic skills and knowledge of sailing to receive a Park District Sailing Card, which is required for renting sail boats on Crystal Lake.

Resident Fee: $150

Non-Resident Fee: $160

Session 1: Code # 340211-01, Mon-Th, June 11-14, 9 am-Noon, register by June 6

Session 2: Code # 240211-02, M & W, June 18 & 20 + June 25 & 27, 5-8 pm, register by June 13

Session 3: Code #340211-03, M-Th, July 9-12, 1-4 pm, register by July 3
