McHenry County Historical Society and Museum issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.

A stitch in time

Thanks to all those who brought in their antique quilts to be appraised on Saturday, Aug. 11.

Crystal Lake quilt appraiser and author Sandy Schweitzer held court in the library, noting each quilt's history and significance.
