WOODSTOCK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY: ISBDC to Host Seminars Featuring Starting a Business, Intellectual Property

Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Industry issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

Aspiring entrepreneurs can get tips on how to start a new business or how to protect their idea or invention with two separate seminars offered by the Illinois Small Business Development Center at McHenry County College.

The following seminars are accepting registration:

Starting a Business in Illinois will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the MCC Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry. Multiple aspects of business ownership will be discussed including the legal aspects of starting a business in Illinois, the importance of a business plan and the resources available to support a new venture. Cost is $35. Use course code: NBD S21 004 when registering Another seminar will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 13 (course code: NDB S21 005).

Intellectual Property-Trademark, Copyright, and Patent Protection law will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 23. Learning how to protect your idea or invention is essential to selling it. Brie Crawford of Crawford Intellectual Property Law will cover the basics of trademarks as well as what can and cannot be protected. Cost is $35. Use course code: NDB S03 001 when registering.
