McHenry County Historical Society and Museum issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
Field trip by the McHenry Co. Joint Council of Historic Groups
Representative from the McHenry County Historical Society and the McHenry County Historic Preservation Commission visited the Boone County Museum of History: Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Belvidere.
Special thanks to Executive Director Anna Pivoras and Collections Manager Leah Bush – whom we peppered with questions.
Any historic group interested in building a new facility would be well served to visit the downtown museum, which has had several additions – the latest being a 6,000-square-foot multipurpose space which the organization rents out for a variety of family and community functions.
Mortgage payments on this Grand Gallery, as well as staff salaries, are funded through a countywide tax levy.
