Report: Cary spent $10,382 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 is up 6.3 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $9,769 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,382 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2535 to 2478.

Cary's spending in 2017-18 was 22.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
