Village of Port Barrington Board of Trustees met Dec. 4.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
President Yeaton called to order the Special Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees at 7:00pm. The following Trustees were present: Trustees Grothendick, Cillo, Corrigan and Vogeler. Trustee Thomasson, and Herstedt were absent.
President Yeaton stated that the initial purpose of the Board Meeting was to consider Ordinance 2019-12-1 regarding conditional use of land for cannabis businesses.
The meeting was open to the public for questions. A resident inquired whether on-site consumption would be allowed. President Yeaton responded that a change to the Smoke-free Illinois policy was being considered, but not currently allowed.
The public comment portion of the meeting was closed at 7:07pm.
Ordinance 2019-12-1 was before the Board regarding a text amendment addressing medical and adult use cannabis businesses. Trustee Vogeler motioned to approve. Trustee Grothendick seconded. Roll call was taken: 4 Ayes, 0 Nays, 2 Absent. Motion approved.
The next subject for consideration was road salt purchase approval. President Yeaton stated that the prepaid amount to guarantee 120 tons was $20.00/ton which would be an initial cost of $2,400.00. That $20.00/ton locks in the price and without, the availability of salt is uncertain. Rusty stated that last year he used 115 tons. He spoke to Wauconda about having them house the full amount needed but the Village can only accept 20 tons at a time. Trustee Grothendick motioned to approve the contract with Conserve for a pre-payment guarantee for salt availability. Trustee Corrigan seconded. Roll call was taken: 4 Ayes, 0 Nays, 2 Absent. Motion approved.
Trustee Vogeler motioned to adjourn the Special Meeting. Trustee Corrigan seconded. Roll call was taken: 4 Ayes, 0 Nays, 2 Absent. Motion approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:14 pm.
