McHenry County issued the following announcement on March 18.
Business owners impacted by the coronavirus can find important information and request disaster assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration through the county website.
Governor JB Pritzker has applied for a statewide Economic Injury Declaration from the SBA, which if approved would make small businesses and nonprofits eligible for up to $2 million in low-interest loans to help cover payroll, fixed debts, accounts payable and other bills that cannot be paid as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
An SBA help sheet and an online portal to submit a request through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity can be found on the left-hand side of the webpage.
Nine states and the District of Columbia have been granted eligibility for the SBA loans as of Wednesday morning, and more are expected to be declared soon.
