7. NEW BUSINESS
A. Presentation by Senior Care Volunteer Network
Senior Care Volunteer Network's Executive Director, Sarah Schrempf, provided a presentation highlighting the various services offered to seniors in McHenry County. Senior Care Volunteer Network's transportation program is a volunteer service provided to seniors ages 60+ in McHenry County that functions in collaboration with the County's MCRide Program, which is available to residents of all ages.
B. RTA Human Services Transportation Plan (HSTP) Update
Transportation Planner Ryan Peterson provided an update on the RTA's Human Services Transportation Plan (HSTP). In addition, Mr. Peterson informed the Committee that the County's MCRide Program was awarded an RTA grant for $1.48 million dollars to be utilized for the program over the next two years.
C. Staff Recognition
Assistant Director of Transportation Hennings introduced Systems Analyst I Colleen Martoccio as the DOT's Employee of The Quarter for the second quarter of 2021.
D. Proposed Changes to the Township Bridge Program
Assistant Director of Transportation Hennings requested the Transportation Committee's input on reassessing the County's future involvement of maintenance and repair of structures under Township jurisdiction. Currently, the County assists on repairs and maintenance of these structures but holds no obligation to do so. Discussion ensued.
8. OLD BUSINESS
A. Review of Draft PTAC Bylaws
Assistant Director of Transportation Hennings and Transportation Planner Ryan Peterson provided a draft of the PTAC Bylaws for review. One proposed modification to the bylaws is to reduce the amount of voting members down to seven. The bylaws will also be featured on next month's Transportation Committee agenda for approval. Discussion ensued.
B. Staff Report
Transportation Planning Manager Jon Paul Diipla provided updates on the County's Long Range Transportation Plan and the McHenry County Connection Bike Plan. Consultants will now begin prioritizing recommendations and a proposed plan should be available by August 2021.
