October is the start of deer mating season, and they're going to be out and about more, especially at dawn and dusk, so keep an eye out for them while driving. Slow down if you see one - there likely are more because they travel in groups. And if a collision is unavoidable, try to glance your vehicle off the deer, and avoid swerving into oncoming traffic. If you hit a deer, please remember to pull off to the shoulder, turn on your hazard lights and call 911 to report the accident.
